Hero HX 250R Overview
Hero had shocked everyone when it debuted the HX250R earlier this year. Showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo India, the HX250R is Hero's first complete in-house development without any inputs from its erstwhile partner Honda. The HX250R has been designed and engineered in collaboration with the company's technology partner Erik Buell Racing, AVL and Engines Engineering: enriching it with typical sports calibre.Hero HX250R Expected Feature
The HX250R is constructed on an all-new lightweight Geodesic Tubular Frame which is incorporated with similar trellis-shaped swing arm. Suspension setup is traditional telescopic at the front while the rear wheel has mono-shock setup but to make the bike flickable, the rear shock absorber is mounted on the left of the motorcycle to shorten the wheelbase.
Hero HX250R Expected Enigne
The most crucial bit of this new bike is, undoubtedly, its heart. The HX250R is powered by a newly-developed 250cc single cylinder, water-cooled motor, developed completely in-house without accessing any technical credentials of Honda. The motor produces power of 31 BHP which is simply surprising, atleast on paper, if potential of existing players in its competition is considered. This motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and stopping power comes from a 300mm disc at the front and 220mm disc at the rear. ABS will also be on offering but as an optional package.
Hero HX250R Expected Prices
The model is likely to get launched around the festive season this year and being a completely local development, sticker price would be on north of Rs 1.5 lakhs. The HX250R will lock its horns with the likes of upcoming KTM RC 200, Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS, Hyosung GD250R and the last but not the least Honda CBR250R.
